Josh Elder is an award-winning cartoonist, video game designer and nationally renowned advocate for comics in the classroom. Josh has contributed stories to major comic book franchises including Batman, Superman and StarCraft, but he is best known for co-creating (along with artist Erich Owen) the nationally syndicated comic strip and certified awesome graphic novel series Mail Order Ninja. Currently he works as a game writer and designer for Wideload Games, a division of Disney Interactive. Josh is also the founder and President of Reading With Pictures, an educational non-profit that promotes literacy and the arts through the use of comics in the classroom.

A graduate of Northwestern University and current resident of Chicago, Josh was born and raised in Southern Illinois (Carmi, to be exact) and couldn’t be happier to be back!
