NED BEATTY COMES TO OTISBURG -- er, METROPOLIS!
Ned Beatty, dubbed "The Busiest Actor in Hollywood" by Variety Magazine, will be one of the guests of honor at the 2008 Superman Celebration. With numerous accomplishments on the stage, Beatty made his screen debut in Deliverance (1972) opposite Burt Reynolds and Jon Voight. Proving as adept in comedy as he was in drama, Beatty appeared as Otis, Lex Luthor's bumbling henchman in Superman the Movie (1978) and Superman II (1980). Since then, Beatty has made numerous appearances on television and lists over 100 films in his impressive resume in addition to his Award nominations for a Golden Globe, an Oscar and two Emmys. From Hollywood to London's West End to Broadway and beyond, welcome Ned Beatty to the 2008 Superman Celebration in Metropolis, Illinois!
Jeff Holland, founder of League of Heroes, will be joining the artists in the Community Center sharing costume making tips and showing off his amazing wears.
You may remember Jeff from last year's Costume Contest. His portrayal of "Mr. Freeze, won him first prize! Jeff also created a spot-on Shazam! Captain Marvel costume, (The Dick Gautier version)as well
as Batman and Green Arrow. Be sure to stop in and meet Jeff he's a great guy who loves to share his talent.
Premiere talent and Celebration guest artist, Andrew Chandler gives us some hard chuckles with his excellent new strip, "SuperSoup". Site visitors will be seeing more of his amazing artwork & it's guaranteed Andrew's stuff is much more than Chicken-Soup! A+!

Our fearless leader, Lin P. Workman, and his business partner in art, Dave Beaty will be on their tour of duty during the Celebration, giving art goodies away and touting their much anticipated 3rd issue of Bushi-Tales comic book. Both talents will be showing off portfolios and entertaining the crowds in the Community Center with art demos and talks about the biz of self-publishing.

The Celebration committee will have a raffle for several mounted enlargements featuring Christopher Reeve from Superman: The Movie. These gorgeous prints were generously offered by nonother than Jim Bowers of capedwonder.com This is his way of honoring one of the greatest movies of all time, starring a most memorable and beloved Superman, Christopher Reeve. The prints will be on display at the Artist Alley for fans to view throughout the Celebration. Tickets will only be available at the Artist Alley.
